    3 INSTRUCTIONS:
3The ITHS, a partnership among the University of Washington (UW), Seattle Children’s, the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (FHCRC) and other local institutions, supports REDCap, a web-based application for Electronic Data Capture (EDC) developed by a consortium of institutional partners, free to all ITHS members.
    44
5  * Create a template file with the "Generate Template" batch file
5REDCap's main advantages are that it's very easy to get started and has extensive tutorials and online training materials. REDCap is one step up from Excel-- it is web based and has some simple value checking and skip logic, but it doesn't try to compete with any commercial EDC system on features.
    66
7  * Open the Excel file sent by researcher and copy all data (Ctrl-A,Ctrl-C)
    8
9  * Copy the data dictionary into the METADATA_fooproj_TEMPLATE.xls (Ctrl-V)
    10
11  * run the cleaning macro (Ctrl-Q) and check for any errors highlighted in red.
    12
13  * Once all errors have been corrected, run the macro to produce the SQL (Ctrl-A).
14    The SQL for creating the project tables will be copied to your clipboard.
    15
16  * Execute the SQL in the MySQL database where you wish to store this project. It will create a "fooproj_new" table
    17
18  * Go to the [https://shibsp.biostr.washington.edu/redcap/redcap_v2.3.2/index.php?pnid=redcap_controlcenter Basic Project Info] page in the REDCap Control Center
    19
20  * Find the correct project and click "make modifications"
