The WPKG script has been configured and pushed out to all client machines in the domain. This is confirmed by an installed logfile named wpkg.xml which is created in the folder %systemroot%\system32

The next step is to push an installer package using the script to confirm that it is able to update machines automatically. An attempt was made with PDF creator but the program did not install despite the test machine appearently running the installer. It it not clear whether it was the installer or the script that did not work correctly, so perhaps another installer package should be used for the next test.

I had another go at this, but ran into similar issues. I upgraded to the latest version of WPKG which remotely installed fine on the server and the test client (it was pushed to all of them so it's there and ready). This time I attempted to push out firefox 2.0.0.4, and it worked on the server doing a silent install on itself. However, on the test client machine in the event logs it gave an error related to some write permission problem, presumably on the file share where the installer is kept on the server. I'd rather not have the network folder with all the scripts and installer packages to be set with read/write permission so I'll have to look into a more in depth solution to this problem.

This appears to be working as JE describes above, so I'm closing this ticket.
